On our way to Yellowstone we stayed the night in Jamestown, North Dakota and spent most of the day with our friends, Tania and Willy! It was a great way to start out the trip!

We got to Yellowstone area on August 29, 2011. We saw lots of buffalo, (bison) some elk, and bears from a very long ways away. We learned a lot about animals and nature.
This stop was called Fountain Paint Pots. I'm pretty sure orange/red algae meant that the water was hot and green algae meant the water was colder. It was really neat!
Here is a buffalo pretty close to the road... They are really cool animals. This picture was taken by Alec. We have other pictures of buffalo (bison) on the road! I will have to post those later!
This little gyser/lake was called Dragons Den or something like that. When you got close to it it actually sounded like a dragon was in the cave. Alec and I almost gagged because of the smell of sulfur.

It was a great experience! It was so cool to see buffalo right next to the car! I think that was our favorite part! We left Yellowstone on August 31, 2011. Our next stop is Boise!
